Our society today, we are faced with many issues in which it can be decided as a moral or immoral issue. One of the most judge moral issues that we face most is abortion. It has been a worldwide debate over this topic, of whether it is a moral, ethical choice, for many of decades. Times are changing and the technology is improving, it way ethical to get an abortion. We question is the fetus a person who has rights. No matter what the answer is to my question are, the way to approach the issue is through an ethical perspective. Deontology views on abortion in the term of duties, principles, and the rules. Jeremy Bentham and Immanuel Kant Utilitarianism. Deontologist will state, any action that is done ‘’ the considerations of consequences are not to the point. The act of abortion is immoral, and it shouldn’t be performed as the bible stated thou shalt not kill.

Immanuel Kant a German philosopher who believes that all humans have dignity and commands towards respect. According to Immanuel, abortion would be an immoral decision Because it would be cruel actionable to say that every pregnant woman has an abortion. Immanuel Kant would not agree with abortion because isn’t morally correct. Immanuel would also not agree with abortion. He will consider it murder another being under any circumstances. Fetus is a soul and the killing of the soul is impermissible. For example, a woman was a victim towards rape, under any circumstances she shouldn’t kill the fetus. It will be unethical for a woman to kill a fetus.

Jeremy Bentham believes that it’s under any circumstances that allows a woman to have an abortion would be morally accepted. If his approach to abortion, he would use an approach called hedonic calculus, which weighs on the pleasure and the pain that it will cause issues. For example, if a woman was to get raped and the decision was to get an abortion, for it to be consider ethical, it would have outweighed the calculus leaning towards the pain. If the person allowed to abort and it will be ethical in her current ethical dilemma. Financial issues, other family member needs, education, work may be justified by Jeremy approach. There no decision between what is right and what is wrong based on Jeremy views. If the consequences are the most favorable to the person’s happiness.

Both Immanuel and Jeremy portray their views on abortion for obvious reason. But Kant states that doing an abortion are unethical no matter circumstances. While, Jeremy has a different view on arguing that it will be ethical for someone happiness. He believes that the person should look at the best interest for themselves with a moral decision that can impact their internal and external. Healthcare providers suggest that aborting a fetus, if they have a medical condition think that they can deal with.

‘’ if abortion is morally permissible, then our friend or acquaintance who is strongly pro-life would seem to be a deeply misguided and unduly intrusive person’’ (Kaczor, 1). The deontologist decision of abortion is to have a fetus live because they have the right to live just like anybody else.

As a pro-choice, an abortion should be the woman’s choice seeming that it is her body and she knows what is best her even if any circumstances were to cause this thought to flow throughout her mind. Kaczor states, ‘’ if abortion is morally permissible, then to have an abortion may contribute to the authentic happiness of the women who choose abortion as well as the women and men who perform abortions or otherwise cooperate in obtaining abortions. If abortion permissible, then to have an abortion knowingly and willingly does not contribute to but rather authentic happiness and human flourishing’’ (Kaczor, 12).

Another viewpoint that we can examine is the abortion process. Studies have shown that the fetus doesn’t feel any pain during the process as long the process it done prior third trimester which is 27 weeks. ‘’ Evidence regarding the capacity for the fetal pain is limited, but indicates that the fetal perceptions of pain is unlikely before the third trimester. ‘’ (Lee, Ralston, Drey, Partridge, Rosen, 1)

The view point of deontology is pertains to the abortion and the effect of the immoral action of killing a fetus. If a woman was to have an abortion, it is very important that we educate woman about the risk, benefits, and procedure of an abortion. It provides them with resources and the measures to abortion. My view on abortion, I can’t agree with the process and the decision that woman makes towards it. I believe every baby deserves to live a beautiful life with dreams. I know that most women that get an abortion are victim to rape. But there are millions of women are struggling to have kids. So, if a woman feels ashamed of keeping the baby because of a situation that was hard to deal with. I think the moral decision of killing a fetus is wrong on so many levels. The right moral decision is keeping the baby or give them away to a woman struggling to have babies. But, one question a woman will always consider when having an abortion. ‘’ What will it be like to be a mother to a boy or a girl?’’ I know that life is hard, but taking a life for a bonus point in heaven is wrong and wrong.
