Charlie Chaplin In Modern Times: Film Analysis

“Charlie Chaplin:Tempos Modernos”

The movie is all about Modern Time, Charlie Chaplin is the main cast of the movie. Where he is coping up with the modern time or with modern machines. It portrays how people start to try hard just to cope up with modern time. Charlie is a factory worker with the modern equipments that they used on their job. They really trying hard just to finish their work because of their dedication. Also it is shown in the movie that some people does not have work or there’s unemployment because of the machinery. In this movie it portrays how difficult it is to cope up with modern time.

Chaplin is a Factory worker of a moving fast objects they he needs to screw by using his two hands. They are also using modern equipment, and then on their break, the process of their work should also stop because they need to eat. That’s why there is an invention the machine that they can eat while working by the use of that engine machine. They used Charlie to try that machine and it is not that a good invention because it is not working properly and they need to develop it. After they used Charlie he became crazy that leads him to send into the hospital. After he send out from the hospital, he try to give back the red flag form a truck and there is rallies and the police came and Charlie holding the red flag so they get Chaplin and send him to jail even he is not with the rallies or communist. And then he met the young girl running from the police because she stole a bread. Suddenly they fall in love with each other, they look for their own house. Charlie didn’t stay at home he always looking for a job even it is too hard for him to have a job and to cope up with the modern time. Then the young girl became a dancer in a café and after Charlie send out again to jail the young girl gave him a job as a singer in to the café. But the police are looking for the young girl that’s why the police want to send the young girl in to jail. But they run away from the police, and the young girl became sad. But despite of all those struggles they still together being brave to cope up with the modern time.

The movie doesn’t have dialogues but you can still understand what are the movie trying to say. This movie is really different form other movies because the character of Charlie is really different.

The Modern Time movie shows how people keep trying how to cope up with the machine or modernity. But despite of all those struggle they know how to fight and keep on trying and smiling. Charlie Chaplin is a kind of person with an extraordinary personality, he keep on trying and surviving on his life and with modernization. They are together facing all the struggles that the future will may bring.
