This present paper aims to present factual information regarding the existence of domestic violence in the Land of Smiles. Thai culture is unique yet special and renowned for its complexities. However, rather than discovering the repercussion of Thai culture, there is something controversial which needed to be carried out and emphasized on it. With no doubt, the topic of the day is domestic violence which is known as a pattern of abuse or intimidation used to gain control or maintain power over a partner physically, mentally, sexually, and hygienically. It is an act intended to hurt others without thinking twice, damage properties, threaten, injure, sexually assault and molest, neglect request or emotion, confine, delay, not looking after even fall sick and restrict personal movements and freedom. According to the article chosen, findings disclose that domestic violence can happen between spouses, next of kin, and relatives and categorized into self-violence, violence between individuals and between groups. No matter what types of domestic violence occur, it has victimized abusers and family members who witness and abuse it because the consequences are terrible such as fragmented home, abandoned children, physical and mental injuries, and incur negative losses to society due to unbalanced families. A variety of reasons lead to the thoughts of abuse which included traumatized childhood experience, conflict, overtime stress, and lack of mutual understanding but it is not an excuse to take action on innocent people. Moreover, it is a severe issue to be a focus on due to personal matter and tons of people will choose to hide it rather than reveal to public as they considered it as a great shame to themselves and form social hidden problem.

First and foremost, reasons to hurt others might due to personality disorders. For instance, antisocial which disregards the rights of others, histrionic which is excessively emotional and dramatic, and obsessive-compulsive which is preoccupied with control. Since violence is abnormal hence it is aberrant due to over-consumption of drugs and alcohol to trigger him to act in an irrational way. Feminist theory demonstrated the root of evidence due to gender inequality because males only had the right to dominate women in any matter thus lead to tragedy. If the child is exposed to violence in childhood life learned behavior is obtained by tolerating and intimidating the behavior through socialization and learning of absorption of bad influence. Furthermore, lack of proper emotional management and loss of control lead to bad-temper and explosions like men usually had innate violence and hard to calm down. Abusive relationships stay in a cyclical pattern because of abusers ( Matthews, 2004, Walker, 1979, Weiss, 2000).

Following is the evaluation section to examine the usefulness of qualitative research. Methodological problems can be seen as it is difficult to generalize from tons of clinical study results because not representative and seldom utilize control and comparison groups in study design. Weis (1989) depicted that each data collection had its own limitations such as response error, recall selectivity, and small sample size like in the current study which didn’t mention how many populations are covered. Also, the aforementioned study didn’t go through about multiculturalism or how it related to Thailand. Research is needed to explore the relevance and clinical utility of how providing efficient services to victims instead of talking.

After all, protective interventions should be implemented to deduct the violence rate. By assisting affordable community services to women such as housing, child care, employment, and social support can aid them in becoming independent therefore more easily escape from abusers. We acknowledge that various typologies of domestic violence bring different outcomes but we need considerable efforts to eliminate those negative matters by recognizing signs and steps to remove them effectively ( Salber and Taliaferro, 1995). Increasing research, replication, and longitudinal studies should be done as s promising direction to improve efforts to ultimately prevent violence.
