Treat others as you would like to be treated”, that is the Golden Rule. From a moral standpoint this rule not only encompasses what it means to be a kind person, but also what it truly means to be a human being. I believe that the role of a Physician Assistant should be enacting the golden rule as not just a saying, but rather as a lifestyle. That is to say, I believe it is through compassion and empathy for others, that we make working in the profession worthwhile. A Physician Assistant is one who is able to provide the necessary treatments required to rehabilitate the patients. Through extensive research and a will to help others, a physician assistant is responsibility for meeting the needs of the individual. It is believed that the two most important days in our lives are the days we are born and the days we find out why.” This quote from Mark Twain comes to mind when describing my journey to becoming a physician assistant. I consider myself to be a significant candidate when it comes to the practice of physician assistance and healthcare because I have extensive experience when it comes to caring for those in need. Growing up with immigrant parents I understand that it takes hard work and sacrifice to be successful. And for this reason, my parents were and still are a major influence in my life. In regards to the decisions I make and the people I flock with, my parents taught me that kindness is key. Knowing that I could contribute to someone in a beneficial way, and help them go about living a joy filled life is enough of a reward for me.As a former associate nurse at Green Croft Nursing center in Indiana, I performed a series of tasks that involved providing to patients that were ill or disabled. Gaining the opportunity to practice nursing, I gained knowledge about the field itself along with the responsibilities that came with being a Physician Assistant. For a long time have always been motivated to do good for others, solely because it made me feel good. Classes like Anatomy and Physiology, microbiology and Chemistry has prepared me for my decision of becoming a Physician Assistant. Anatomy is the principal organ system such as the musculoskeletal and nervous system while physiology works with cells and organs within their biological systems. Microbiology helps improve human lives by providing identification- methods and by suggesting treatment method for all disease. In my years of working with healthcare department, I have experienced multitudinous moments such as those with Rosa, that have inspired my career choice. There is no greater reward in life than to share your love and compassion with the world to make everyone else’s life just a little bit better. Volunteer efforts, non healthcare and Healthcare experience consolidate that there was no other profession I desired more. I know that to become a physician assistant, academic excellence is inescapable so I would like to take the time to explain the discrepancies in my transcript.Although I am extremely dedicated to becoming the best PA I could be, I did not have this same drive to succeed during my third year of college. I struggled with managing my time and finding study methods that worked for me, and my grades suffered as a result. However, I sought help from an academic advisor on campus and re-committed myself to my education. I hope that Admissions will see past my GPA and afford me the chance I know I deserve. I have proven my capability and motivation during scabrous years of college when I refocused my goals, and through my professional experiences. I am ready to do what it takes to reach my goals of providing the highest quality care of which I am capable.

Outside of my qualifications on paper, I have been told that I am a compassionate, friendly, and a strong woman.Years from today, through my growth and experience as a PA, I wish to be evolved to be a role model for someone with the same qualities and professional objectives as I have today. I chose PA because I love working as a team. Helping others makes me feel like I have a purpose, and there is no other profession that I would rather be in. Admittance to a respectable program is not the beginning or the end … it is the next step of my journey to become a reflection of who I admire.
