My selection by my teachers and other leaders to be a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) is a rare opportunity and humbling honor for me. My character of honesty, hard work in any task that I undertake, willingness to offer service and leadership put me at a position to be a valuable member of the highly esteemed NHS.

Getting the opportunity to be a member of NHS combined with my commitment to academic excellence through hard work positions me well to be a role model to many young people. My A/B honor roll certificates have demonstrated to my teachers, family and myself that I am ready to beat all the odds to achieve my dreams including being a member of NHS. I am a President’s Education Award honor holder validating my character in upholding academic excellence as a platform for achieving my dreams of impacting positively on people. I also play active role in other activities in school, where most of my leadership skills have been enhanced through participating in games and acting plays; activities that have taught me the power of teamwork. I have learned to lead through listening to member’s ideas but I do not shy away from making the hard calls that keeps the team moving when staging plays. My passion for arts helps me to achieve community service through entertainment. I hold district 1 rating solo and ensemble honor to highlight my passion for music and acting. I believe art is a tool for mentorship to many young people and an important parcel of the community at large. My willingness to offer services is exemplified by volunteering at the Ludington Center for Arts under the guidance of Chris Plummer because for me learning is a daily activity. I have also volunteered with Edgar Struble as part of the crew for Nashville Christmas. In conclusion, I am willing to uphold the loyal school attitude in accepting to join NHS. I believe this chance to join NHS is a rare opportunity to better my skills in leadership and service delivery so that to impact positively to my peers and the society at large. My academic and extracurricular determination proves my enthusiasm and personal qualities to be a valuable asset of NHS. I am willing to learn through the scholarship to enable me help the present community and generations to come.
