It’s 2009, I’m nine years old and for the first time, I enter what we all Miami people know and love Dolphin Mall. Imagine a little girl coming from the Caribbean, which was Cuba. Were if a child had two pairs of shoes was too much. Walking into a place where everything was filled with clothes to my left and right. I’ll never forget what I asked my mother that day. I said, “Can you buy me three pairs of shoes, and with a smile on her” and with a smile on her face she said, “of course my dear will buy you three pairs of shoes.” I thought I was dreaming because I never thought I was going to be seeing in real life what I saw in movies.

Miami has been my home for many years, and I can say for certain that all my experiences through these years have been the best. I can remember all my first times when I arrived in Miami from Cuba, it was like if it was yesterday. The first time going to Miami Beach where I was introduced to so many cultures in just one big outdoor environment. Something I can say for sure is that Miami is mine forever home.

Like I said before, “I remember my first time going to the beach like if it was yesterday.” It was June or July, which is summertime here in Miami. The salty, drifting breeze of Miami’s coast is sufficient to cause my knees to go powerless. I take a glance into the cloudless, cerulean blue. I look at the sky and see the flawlessness of life; out yonder, folding clear-blue waves collide with one another with so much power.

Feeling the left-over warmth of the mid-evening day, I let myself ingest the rankling beams of the sun while opening my mouth to the sharpness of the clingy evening air. I am taken in by the relieving, unwinding, serene climate. I walk around, and the grainy, smooth, darker sugar sand pulls my uncovered feet under and leaves an ideal engraving. Ameliorated by the hints of the sea, the cadenced beating of the waves curbs the entirety of my stresses; I become wrapped by everything around me. Sitting down on the warm and lopsided dry sand, I run my hand carefully over the smooth surface, leaving a path from my fingertips. I get a bunch and filter it from my palm gradually, feeling the lumpiness of sand with each finger.

I squint out there of the advancing whitecaps and happen upon a gliding yacht. Concentrating on the seashore, I watch moderately aged individuals laying on seashore towels, children’s making sandcastles or skipping in the sea, and youthful couples clasping hands while strolling along the shoreline. I close my eyes and take in the entirety of my environment and run my fingers gradually and carefreely through my medium length, dark hair as I take in the smell of the salty, evening air that shivers my noses. I feel like a seagull, floating unendingly in the wind cool as a cucumber, support by the reverberation of the moving waves, inaccessible voices, and chuckling of individuals close by.

There is a small number of beaches on the planet that can contend with Miami’s sandy shores. The city’s miles of flawless coastline invoke a wide range of exercises; you’ll discover beach volleyball matchups, outside rec center classes and, obviously, the most beautiful sunbathing spots you’ll ever encounter. There are beaches for all events: pet-accommodating, BBQ-prepared, and ones that host parties once the sun goes down. People viewing at South Beach is never an exercise in futility, nor is it rollerblading and biking along Ocean Drive. Whatever your fantasy beach action is, Miami has you secured.
