Space Exploration

Look into the sky, a beautiful place beyond our earth in space. There has been a lot done to explore space.

Space exploration first started on October 4, 1957, when the U.S.S.R launched Sputnik 1. The U.S.A planned to become the first nation in space, but the Soviet Union beat them to it. The first to start exploring space was Russia. That’s why the space race took place the U.S.A raced Russia into space from 1957-1975.

One question many people have is why start to explore space? We explore space for the survival and long-term of the human race. We learn about the universe around us and human beings are curious and to explore. Many times we search for life on other planets. Curiosity has pushed our species to evolve and become who we are as well as having the instincts to survive. Exploring space inspires people to reach for the best in themselves and work hard for one day we will be an intelligent species.

There are things needed to explore space not just us but what is on us. Equipment is very important in space exploration. The suit they wear has many parts, but what they really need is the oxygen tank. It keeps them from losing oxygen and maintaining homeostasis. The visor protects them from the UV rays that come from the sun. It also protects them from dust and particles going around with micro-gravity. The suit has evolved over many years including bigger and better equipment. When I watched the movie “Gravity” it showed many exciting scenes when they were working on the space station. The best science fiction movie I have ever seen is the space movie “Interstellar”, they were scarce on food and they went into space to find a habitable place to live. They eventually found a planet after the main character almost died.

The human species has evolved over the centuries and decades, but the one thing that has the most is space exploration. We have gotten far beyond our galaxy and beyond that. We are even trying to colonize civilization on Mars. Starting in 2020 an unmanned shuttle will go into orbit. Then in 2024-2026, they will send a manned space shuttle to Mars!

Space exploration is something to look forward to in the future. Once we get technology better than the present time we will be far beyond Mars and maybe even our galaxy. Remember you look into the sky; a beautiful place beyond our earth is space. That is the key to finding excitement and inspiration in the stars above.
