Why not India:

I have not chosen to take up my Master’s in India because the education system is not that strong and when it comes to practical teaching concepts there are very few Colleges and Universities providing such courses. India is a fast-developing economy and anyone who can gain first-hand knowledge on any field will be able to settle down in top positions. In order to do that, it is important to get world-class exposure. The number of institutions is also very few and the master’s program is yet to develop properly. The master’s programs in India are not up to the international standards, as the research facilities aren’t on par with the international Standards. There is less scope of learning the subjects. So I have chosen to study the Master’s Course in Abroad to achieve my career goals. And I started doing research about Universities & Courses which suit my area of interest.

Why not other countries:

After going through all the above reasons, I have decided to pursue my Master’s in UK. I have gone through the website and found the current affairs of countries like the USA and Canada.

USA: Though there is wider choice of universities in the US, not all universities are properly accredited. Most of the universities like Silicon Valley University, Northwestern polytechnic university, has been blacklisted. The universities admission process is very lengthy and after all the efforts Visa is always ambiguous. High expensive living costs and security to international students is a major concern for students like me. In USA the academic entry requirements, IELTS or TOEFL requirements are high, also require high GRE and GMAT scores apart for IELTS and TOEFL which need a lot of preparation.

CANADA: Cold weather conditions, which are not flexible for Indian weather and very slow admission process. In Canada, the majority of the courses are two years course and very few are related to my choice of course. The offer letter turnaround time is nearly 6 weeks. In addition, there are different languages in different provinces of Canada so it will be difficult to tackle. This is the main reason I dropped my plan to study in Canada.

Reasons for applying to UK university:

UK has some of the most ancient universities in the world. It was the centre of education. Even today, the education system in UK is one of the best in the world. Although English is the preferred language of instruction, there are a number of universities that offer their courses in English. Even if they don’t know English, international students can easily study their preferred courses in English at some of the best English universities. UK is famous for being a hospitable nation. International students are treated with warmth and affection here. The hospitality makes the experience of studying in UK even more enjoyable. They will face no problems from the English who are ready to help international students adjust to their new lives. Students will rarely have time to be homesick as they will be made comfortable by the generous English.

Universities are widely recognized for excellence in many disciplines. In my perspective, a decent education can be acquired anywhere but what matters, in the end, is the experience and exposure of the student. So, I choose to study in UK because of the cultural diversity, friendly natives, and high quality of education. And the universities provide international student scholarships. Above reasons are very much suitable for what I’m looking for in an educational country destination.

Reason to choose this university:

There is an excellent long term relationship between the student and his department at your university. I have gone through the university website very carefully and I have realized that the highly talented faculty will provide a perfect environment in which I can hone my skills. Your university is also a confluence of people from every culture, nationality, religion race and ideology, and exposure to these kinds of diverse influence would aid in the overall development of my personality and help me broaden my concepts from narrower confines of nationalism to internationalism.

Reason to pursue masters in mechanical engineering:

As a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate student with an ardent interest in the industrial work environment, I have learnt the principles of mechanical engineering those are applicable to most machines, tools and processes which naturally widens my scope of learning and research. This has intrigued me to explore the option of pursuing master’s course in Mechanical Engineering from your prestigious University, which I believe will not only supplement my knowledge that I have acquired but also provide me with the best possible platform for the attainment of my future goals. This naturally triggered in me a desire to know more about what happens inside these machines and the reason behind their precise and accurate working. Also, my frequent visits to the industry enabled me to retain as well as enhance my keen interest in the field and thus, influenced me to pursue my undergraduate course in Mechanical Engineering.

Future plans & reasons for returning to home country:

I would like to come back to my home country after finishing my master’s degree and will join in one of the leading research companies in a good position with this I will get advanced career growth opportunities and have a great chance to work in reputed organizations in India, through this Master’s degree. My family, friends and relatives are all based in India. I am a family oriented person, who cannot live alone for long duration. Subsequently, I want to be with my parents in India and such kind of joy cannot be counted in terms of money.

I have seen many profiles on Linked in where they are working in the top companies in India and earning huge salaries and the degree acquired is from at your esteemed university With the hands on experience I can easily get promoted in to R&D which is my future goal. I am motivated through the successful Professionals from the same industry. Hence my return to India is inevitable and is must in order to return my parent’s goodwill and achieving my professional goals.

Conclusion

Attending your prestigious institution would give me an opportunity to receive high-level education under the guidance of prominent professors and excellent teachers. I would regard my admission to your University not only as a great honour but also as a great responsibility and challenge to prove myself.

Thanks for giving me opportunity to express myself.
