The Top Three

In the car business it is sometimes hard for people to find a car that is for them while others do not care as much as long as the car gets them to their destination. I am definitely the later. There are many types of Toyotas out there and it is a very common brand that is often overlooked with the newer cars that continue to arise. Toyota has been around for a long time and will hopefully continue to evolve. In this paper there will be three types that will be talked about and compared, but only one is chosen as the car I would rather have. The three types of Toyotas are the 2019 Corolla, Camry, and the Avalon Hybrid. My family and I have always stayed with some type of Toyota throughout the years until we finally found that the Corolla is more for us. The 2019 Corolla is the one I would rather have out of the three for two reasons; price and fuel efficiency.

Money

The first thing that comes to mind when I am buying a car is its price. Now, the MSRP for the 2019 Corolla is at $18,700, while the Camry is at $23,845 and the highest one ended up being the Avalon Hybrid starting from $36,650 (Serra Toyota, n.d.). Just by seeing these numbers I was easily influenced towards the Corolla side, especially when putting the side of the car by side. I can tell the features are slightly different of each one, but the concept is similar. The Camry has a bigger trunk by 1.1 inches, but the Corolla can put the seats down like a hatchback for more room if needed (Riverside Toyota, n.d.). If I can save more and still be satisfied, then why would I go with a “cooler” looking car to gain others attention when I will be the one paying the price for it? At the end of the day it only matters that I have a car to get me where I am going not how much I paid for it. The future bills and my insurance will also attribute as factors to the choice.

Fuel Efficiency

The second and last reason why I would choose to purchase the 2019 Corolla is because of how much I will be able to go farther for the price I will be paying with having 37 miles per gallon on the highway, 28 in the city, and 31 combined (Wakelin, 2018). The Avalon Hybrid and Camry have slightly better fuel economy compared to the Corolla, but it is not by much. Yet, for a commuter car it is just perfect as it is for me. Now if I wanted to make that rare journey to some other place then I would not have to worry about my car using up too much fuel for the trip.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the car that I would purchase is the 2019 Toyota Corolla, yet, if I were to pick another one based solely on the appearance it would be the Avalon Hybrid. Each of the three cars have their pros and cons but the pros of the Corolla outweigh the others for me. First of all, when it is brand new with little to no mileage, the price is cheaper than the others. Secondly, the Corolla has better fuel efficiency than the others so that I can use more but pay less. The Corolla seems to evolve over the years, and I cannot wait to see what it will be in the next ten years.
