Reasons For Reading The Whole Harry Potter Series
There are multiple interesting stories with different plots out there to read, but by far, as a lover of books, the one that has caught my attention the most is the whole Harry Potter series. From the romance, to death, to the out of book experience, this series is stunning in many ways. I do realize that not everyone enjoys reading, that’s why they go and watch the movies instead, and they still love it, even to the point that some may go and read the books after watching the movies. But say you’ve never tried reading or watching the Harry Potter series, or you aren’t interested, here are some reasons why you should give the series a try.
Throughout the series, there are many twists and turns, and new ideas to discover and unravel. During the beginning, we find out that Harry Potter’s parents were killed, and as his aunt and uncle say, they were killed in a “car crash” but that in fact, was not the case. We learn that they were killed by an unforgivable curse, done by one of the worst wizards of the time, He who should not be named. From there, we follow Harry on his journey to school, meeting new people, finding his classes, and all the bad things that go on during the years. As the years go by, He who should not be named starts coming back, each time stronger than he was before, and each year, Harry uncovers new things about himself and the world he was isolated from.
The Harry Potter books and movies consist of a rollercoaster of emotions, and not everything is happy. If you have not read the books or watched the movies, or seen any information about the series, ill try not to spoil the series, however, people do die. Many people die, especially the characters that the author, Jk Rowling makes us become attached to. The fact that she kills off so many of our favorite characters, reflects onto reality. People die without any warning, and not everything ends well for everyone. Sometimes, being broken hearted is necessary, and the whole Harry Potter series, book or movie, shows you this through the pages.
The series is much more than just a story about witches and wizards, or some tragic deathly story. The book series taught me about friendship, love, and bravery. The life lessons I have learned from this text have always kept me reading the series again and watching the movies for the thousandth time. I know many people who grew up with Harry, so for them, as well as me, the series represents their childhood. After reading these books, I found out that there are no limits to the imagination, especially when it comes to writing.
Contrary to books in its same category, the Harry Potter series does not focus on romance. This is one of the reasons why some people prefer Harry Potter over books like Twilight. The Harry Potter series isn’t just a romantic series. Yes, romance does happen, but not until the last few books, and even then, it’s not very obvious or often that we see it. Instead, the series is about an adventure, magic, the good versus the evil, friendship, and more. Romance isn’t the plot, and it isn’t what moves the characters to act the way they do. In a world that seems to be filled with teenage romance, it’s great to read a story that is primarily about the opposite, friendship.
Another reason I suggest this series to people is the fact that it is an easy escape from our world into theirs. While reading the books, you get to travel to a whole new world. Not only do you feel lost in their lives, as an escape, the fandom allows you to go as far as to create your own story, as if you were really there. Along with Harry and his friends, you can ride the Hogwarts Express, get Sorted into one of the four Hogwarts Houses, attend classes like Defense against the dark arts Potions, and meet tons of new friends. Not only that, but through thick and thin, Hogwarts, the school, will always be there to welcome you home.
Harry Potter is an entrancing series, ranging from romance between the main characters, or the deaths of those characters we have come to love, the Harry Potter series never fails to impress me. Because reading is one of the few passions of mine, the books did peak my interest, and as I continued reading, I fell in love with a world that existed in the minds of the fans, including myself. I hope that you will give the series a try as well.
