Understanding Business Management: Professional Development Plan And Review

Introduction

Professional development is a crucial part of the formal process which improves and increases the learning capabilities of students or staff of an organization. In fact, students must emphasize the professional development to excel in their academic performance and enhance their skills for a better job prospect at the end of a development program. (Hartley & Woods 2005). Professional development can be defined as the process, which involves learning to maintain and earn professional credentials such as formal coursework, academic degrees, training and attending conferences, and other skill improvement activities situated in practice. (Sinha & Labi 2007). This essay presents work on the professional development plan and review. To improve skills and learning, a development plan highlighting strengths, which it intends to build on and weaknesses for which it wishes to compensate, will be presented in this essay. Moreover, this essay will include a Progress Review that provides an evaluation of the achievement of each of the profession’s developmental goals and a reflection on the learning experience. Finally, a long-term plan of action that sets out the future development goals will also be presented in this work.

Professional Development Plan

Self – it is mentioned in the personal SWOT analysis that people face certain issues regarding the money spending process as they love to go shopping and often, as most people do not keep track of spending money. For this behavior of theirs, they face certain issues as sometimes they may run out of cash in several critical situations. On the other hand, their employability skills such as computing skills and communication process can be improved in proper way. In order to achieve both of these skills of theirs, it is required to maintain a daily routine where they can maintain proper track of their money spending process and it will control people’s money spending by segmenting their money in different aspects. On the other hand, they can join weekend classes to improve their mentioned employability skills in a proper way. (see 1 SWOT).

Teamwork – through the self-learning, personal and professional development of their learning will take place. It will motivate them to work in a team. It will aid them to inspire and give encouragement to work in teams and assist each different individuals and gain an understanding of modern skills, for example learning in team obtain significant strength than undertake presentation or lectures that are according to (Gold, Thorpe and Mumford, 2010). It grants freshers more of a range to communicate themselves, to form successful relations with teachers and others in the team, and to progress a compass of the ability to work as a team. (Cottrell, 2015).

Academic goal- the reasons for returning back to education is due to having the unreliability of a lesser earning was very relevant for everyone’s self-esteem. Learning more will make them as an individual a better person and also create an end result for themselves and their families. Owning a degree will make an individual into an established and skilfully reward position in order to aid their families.

Progress Review Report

People are regularly stressing to learn ways to save money, except increasing time can guide them to victory. Achieving a time management strategy that works best for all individuals relies on the strength to self-driven and height of self-control. (Silvestre, 2018). How they use their time controlled on different diagnostic method in order to identify certain areas which need to improve immediately in order to acquire success properly, similar as money, time is precious and restricted. It should be the shield, used wisely and budgeted (Success, 2018). According to this planning and organizing method is the principle time management strategy. People who pursuit strong time management skills generally find themselves better productive, felt not so much stressed, get further things done and identify process regarding learning needs is essentially important. As a lot of people these days face certain issues regarding improper decision-making process and presentation in front of several processes which were affecting their daily and academic activities. People have since come to find out that, there are a several of psychological needs that power a person’s behaviors, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. People tend to happen to able to recognize how general needs in their lives influence your interpersonal relationships. Following making this awareness now, they will know which needs literally impact their behaviors the most.

Bad communication is an inevitable effect of stress (Moss, 2017). One part of communication where few people are poorest at is volume, clarity and confidence. It is along the outstanding impact of personal development that a single person can develop and enhance his or her happiness, health, wealth, careers and relationships. According to Doyle (2018), volume, clarity and confidence are far the greatest key features of being a powerful communicator in academics or in people’s jobs. Few times, they will face certain issues regarding group presentations because of their improper communication and lack of confidence in such things. Therefore, they will have to establish a learning routine which will grow a crucial chapter of the plan since life is all regarding continual learning. (Fry, 2009). Motivation will shape an important element of everyone’s learning habits. They will develop their communication skills by practicing more on their presentations every month in front of their families or peers, in demand to improve their career possibilities and identify the poor areas they would like to work on.

There are several resources that can contribute in development process by providing certain evidences regarding improvement of different goals (Cottrell, 2015). The evidence of progress of regarding self-improvement goals can be acquired from daily maintained diary entries and computer center exams regarding excels. On the other hand, the academic skills are improving or not can be properly monitored from the tutor and peers therefore; they are our appropriate source of evidence regarding development.

Process of reflection and review

Gibbs model of reflective cycle provides opportunities to identify different aspects of learning and doing (Bass et al., 2017). This model will properly be helpful to others to establish the whole process of personal development plan and introducing the progress report for the whole development program.

1. Action Plan: While creating the action plan they will face certain difficulties to organize learning things according to their magnitude. Reviews from their tutors and peers will help them in this process hugely.
2. Description: While continuing with different routines and classes to achieve self, group working and academic goals, they will grow more confidence while participating in different presentation. In computer class they will learn new things in every session which will improve their knowledge regarding computers.
3. Feelings: People will have more confidence regarding their ability to operate a computer and give any presentation in group work. On the other hand, in initial phase of money rationing process they will face certain challenges but will be on a right course now to establish a proper habit not to waste money randomly.
4. Evaluation: The good thing of this program is that these people will have proper opportunities to learn skills and new things but it is hampering their time management process and maintaining balance in daily life activities.
5. Analysis: People will have to manage their schedules better in order to maintain these processes to achieve goals properly.
6. Conclusion: Through the progress of the process they are learning that they could invite one or two friends of theirs who have common problems through which a better development approach could have been taken by them.

Progress in regarding different goals

Self- In self-development process, it mentioned that it is needed to improve the computing skills and money saving process through which a secure future regarding financial and career aspects. (see 2 spreadsheet).

Group Working -In order to improve skills regarding group working process it is mentioned that they have to improve the communication skills. In the last two class presentation there have been good marks from the tutors and also peers have mentioned improvement have been made in each session. (see 3 presentation picture and peers’ feedback).

Academic Goal – In the last presentation the score is 23/30 which was 10 percent more than the previous one. (see 4 tutor feedback).

Discussion:

The table presents information reflecting on the experiences and adopting a similar approach to that outlined in section 1. According to the development plan, it must have good skills on information and communication technology. IT is important to produce highly professional work using Microsoft Office or other software’s. This skill will help to produce the assignment and presentations with high standards. Time management is also has been included in the long-term development plan. During the course they have to do many assignments and also manage personal life activities. Therefore, one must have time management skills to have good balance. This can be done by using task breakdown methods which will allow you to finish each task on time. They will also need to improve their writing skills. Professional development requires high standard writing skills. Reading good quality newspapers and novels will help to improve writing skills. This is a long-term process and expected time to achieved the goal by December 2019. Team work is also an important part of successful professional life. One must be openminded and be able to collaborate with other students during group works. This will help them to learn through information and exchange of knowledge.

Conclusion

This essay presented a work on the professional development plan and review.
