Advantages of cyber extension:-

• It is the most innovative way of teaching methods for agricultural extension.
• The latest technologies invented at the other end of the world will reach local farmers in a minute because of their convenience.
• Rural communities do not feel ‘we’re alone’ but feel ‘we’re connected to the world.’
• Farmers will be computer literate.
• Not only for the farmer but also for his / her friends, the Internet will become a rich source of education.
• When using cyber extensions, farmers can feel good about their personality; they feel honored.
• Free access to the websites would improve the involvement of farmers in the extension programs.
• Farmers will be well-educated and aware of agricultural technologies by watching, listening and watching demons.
• Farmers around the world will be well informed about the latest agricultural issues.
• Because of up-to-date data on cyber extension systems, farmers can predict the weather, harvest and even market trends.
• Farmers are not dealing with extreme circumstances such as price-fixing, price fluctuations, trafficking intermediaries, black market prices, etc. while reading newsletters on the websites.
• Farmers should look for new projects for their excess production (starting jam, cordial production, investment in mushroom cultivation, compost production, milk and meat processing, etc.) unlike traditional farming.
• The young generation tends to be involved in agricultural activities because of technological advances.
• Extension officers can handle extension programs without worrying about other office work, time and transportation costs etc.

Disadvantages of cyber extension:-

• Because cyber extension facilities in every village are not available, farmers may have to travel far for it.
• Because of rapid technological changes, farmers will be left in doubt and find it difficult to overcome the information overload ‘ situation.
• Most farmers in rural areas are still uneducated. It will be more difficult for such people to become computer literate.
• As a developing country, seeing the new agricultural developments in developed countries (e.g., Canada) would leave a feeling of shame to the farmers and the general public (as they all have, we have nothing), a doubt within themselves.
• The cyber extension would loosen family bonds (children will spend their time logging on Twitter, My room, etc. instead of helping with farming).
• Free internet connectivity would degrade the value of network extensions.
• False information, fake facts can present a major threat not only to agricultural practices but also to general awareness. (Example: one website may say that using heavy metals in minimal amounts of fertilizers may not pose a risk to your health, and you may see signs of heavy metals being lethal on another website.
• Seeing that the cyber extension is accessible during office hours in Agrarian Service Centers, the farmer will have to give up farming operations during the daytime.
• New businesses illustrated in cyberspace will not be transformed into localities. Adapting such software would put the crop at risk.
• Some of the materials used in networks of international cyber extensions are not available in our community.
• If the cyber extension network has a malfunction, there is a possibility that all the information stored for years will be lost. There should always be a backup plan.
• Because thousands of data are available in the cyber extension, extension officers may include false information in their documents (such as copying and pasting from another website, not knowing what to do).
• Many cyber extension systems do not publish their information free of charge. They need endless registration, sign-ups, passwords, private details, etc. Most cyber extension systems are not compatible with circumstances and cultures. It is not in local languages that information is provided.
• Dissemination of technology by cyber extension in remote areas, the country’s extreme corners is a difficult, unassailable task.
• Observability of data is prohibited in certain regions of the world (such as saying ‘ this information is not available to your region, it is only available to citizens of the United States, the EU, etc.).
• Achieving certain cyber extension systems will leave the user with nothing but a huge waste of time.
