Disadvantages Of Agriculture Technology

Although technology is effective and useful in agriculture, it also has some negative impacts. First of all agriculture plays the most important role in everyone’s life directly or indirectly as it is the root of food production. So, every step taken to improve the agriculture field should be done with more care. Especially, these technologies must be tested before using as they work how they are programmed to do something. Hence, these technologies can be made for usage after proper experiments done. If any problem or failure is caused during the experiment, they have to be solved. So, a lot of researches have to be done for this and also developments are needed to work well. But it will take long time for this process.

To use this technology, computers and machines are needed which cost a huge amount of money. After implementing this technology there will be a problem that how to use the technology. Most of the farmers are not familiar with modern technologies. Even, they may not have the enough knowledge about technology. Then though the technology is implemented, they are unable to operate it. So, they should know how to operate it. There are only two possible ways to solve this problem. First is they should study about the technology themselves. But they don’t have any proper way to study at their own and also it will take a long time to study. Another solution is that they have to be taught about how to use it which is little expensive.

After people started to use the technology, there will be a problem about the maintenance of the system. This technological equipment should be maintained properly and carefully for long lasting and better usage. Unless they maintain the machines properly, they can not get all the benefits from technology and its life time will be shorter than expected. But it is difficult to the farmers to maintain the technological equipment properly with the less knowledge about this. Moreover, the maintenance cost of the technological equipment is high. So, it will bring the farmers in a financially unstable situation.

Another problem caused by this is pollution. It is one of the threatening issues. Due to the excessive usage of chemicals and high machines on land the quality of land is reduced. In addition to this modern equipment extract more quantity from nature as they are powerful. If this technology become popular, its production and usage will be increased. Too much usage will increase the electronic waste into the environment which can cause many severe problems.

Excessive dependency is one of the negative aspects of agricultural technology. This technology makes the work easier. Then, people prefer to use them always. They have to rely on machines for every work. Suppose the system fails to work due to some internal or external factors which can interrupt its function, people are unable to do anything. Even they may loose the ability to do the work without technology.
