The History Of Eucharist: The History Of Sacrament

The history of the Eucharist that I will be telling you is what the Roman Catholic Churches believe the history of this sacrament. Eucharist is the sacrament of acknowledging Jesus when he sacrificed himself for us. This sacrament came from Jesus, giving the 12 disciples bread and the wine. Bread represents the body of Christ. Wine represents the blood of Christ. Jesus announces this exactly

“Take it and eat it, for this is my body”

“Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood”

The history exactly of the Eucharist is when Jesus was crucified on the cross for our growing society to live in harmony and peace. That Jesus gave the bread and the wine to his fellow disciples as an offering of him, for them to always treasure him in their everlasting loving hearts.

Luke 13:26

‘Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’;

To me this message from the Luke passage means for sacrificing yourself, you have taught us to be selfless and by your actions, you’ve done this because you want us to be giving selfless people. For me your actions definitely help me to be a better person. Your action has got across to the whole Christianity society.

John 6:35

Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.”

This wonderful reference from John has shown me to know that wherever I am Jesus will be with me, through the good and bad times. He will always be with me no matter what I say or do. Nothing I do will ever change Jesus’ mind about how he will always give me he’s never-ending love. Jesus will always have my back.

John 6:51

‘I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.’

This again magnificent reference from John shows me that Jesus will be with me for every second from the moment I die. I won’t live on earth forever but I will live with Jesus forever. He is the base of me because if the stories he told, has helped me to love. His stories I try and put into actions every day.

Eucharist is to represents the last meal. The last meal was the night before Jesus’s crucifixion on the cross. Eucharist is meant to be celebrated by Christians because of how Jesus sacrificed himself for humankind. Eucharist is to show humans to be selfless and remember Jesus by bread (body) wine (blood) because Jesus is one of the two reasons why we are here today. He died for us. This has to have a sacrament if you die to save humanity. We celebrate this sacrament through Lent by gathering with our families and having a feast. Lent is the time we recognise Jesus’s death and the lead up to his death. Eucharist is easily celebrated by just praising the Lord and being with our families. We call the recognition of Lent Easter. Easter we might stuff our faces with chocolate but we still thank and praise the Lord for what he did.

Today this sacrament still exist because of the way it challenges us to strive and serve through life. Eucharist does this by teaching people how Jesus saved a nation by putting his life to an end for us. We all know that when Jesus has his time on earth he would of done much better actions then combining 100 ethic teachers’ actions together. This message is trying to teach us to be selfless and giving people to others. Think of others, every once and while put them first. Eucharist teaches us to celebrate him and what he has done for us. Yet when we celebrate Easter we always have fun, so Jesus has still managed to keep us satisfied as well.

This question is nearly impossible to answer, but if Jesus knew that he was going to go up to God when he died. Why did God have to reassure him everything would be okay? I have said this question because if my father was God and I had to die, I would know that everything would be okay because I would be able to live with him, and enjoy every wonderful moment with him. It would be better than earth because of how much hate Jesus was getting.

I will never fully understand why Jesus was hated by the public because of what he did for others. Why was Jesus so hated that they wanted him to die? Jesus lived his life to help others and give. He made everyone happy but yet Jesus was so hated by the public. Jesus gave his heart to everyone who needed it and didn’t. He had faith to all even if they had none in him.

This question has always been pondered in my mind. It is a very different sort of question, but I have always wanted to know. How come Jesus chose bread to represent his body and wine to represent his blood? Out of everything in the world why were these the chosen food. I feel like there was a meaningful answer behind this. Maybe these foods represented something close to Jesus. But maybe there is no particular reasoning for these foods. We will never know.
