The Kite Runner: Past Sins To Redemption

The lesson of forgiveness and redemptions come hand on hand, you must have to redeem yourself first in order to be fully forgiven by the past sin’s that you have done or created. The Kite Runner is an book written by Khaled Hosseini an afghan american name Amir, relays the story of his childhood throw this and realizes the issues he went through and the events that will cause to shape the plot of his life and the novel. Amir seeks redemption from his best friend of his childhood. He wants redemptions from his pasts sin.

Amir had nothing above Hassan in the respect. The friendship was golden until one day after a kite tournament. Aseef, a boy similar to Amir in the fact that he is a pashtun but drastically different in many other aspects. “A loyal Hazara. Loyal as a dog”(Hosseini 72). Aseef launched himself into Hassan while amir timidly stands by out of sight, doing nothing to help his best friend.while he finds Hassan in a condition that he didn’t want to talk Amir pretends that he didn’t know what happens to hassan in the alleyway. ”i ran because i was a coward”(Hosseini 77). instate of running if Amir had done something now his life could have completely be different that he could not have to feel any guilt or shame. “Just like i pretended i hadn’t see the dark stain in the seat of his pants”( Hosseini 78). Amir’s betrayal eventually leads issues between the two former best friends. Amir cannot seem to control the guilt he feels about hassan’s rape he feels that he could have done something to prevent hassan’s rape if he was not scare of Aseef.

Their relationship changed after the day of the incident with Hassan. they no longer talked to each other played or flew kites together. Amir and Hassan became complete strangers to each other memories, memories too painful for Amir to think about but he knew he must come back at some point to redeem him elf. Amir gives many chances to Hassan to get back him physically from running away so he can at least be out of guilt.” what will you do if i hate you with this, hit me back”(Hosseini 92). Amir can’t sleep at night thinking about the incident. Amir prays to get Hassan mad by hating him with pomegranate so Hassan could hit him back that he will get revange on him for not doing anything that night to help Hassan from being get raped by Aseef. “Baba have you ever thought of gating new servents”(Hosseini 89). Amir wants hassan out of his life because he thinks it will relive his guilts. Amir thinks by casting them out of his life, he will forget about what happened and his guilt will disapper.” This was Hassan final sacrifice for me”(Hosseini 105). Amir makes look like hassan stole some money and a new watch that Amir got for his birthday and Hassan admits it that he say thta he stole the watch and moeny. While Hassan admits that he stole but baba forgives him because everyone knew that Hassan never lied. Amir took away an inncocent that Hassan has. Ali and Hassan decide to move away by them self Ali realized thta were Amirs actions were taking them.

A while later, he and Baba move to America because of the war in Afghanistan. It is a way that they can start their lives over again. “For me, America was a place to bury my memories.” (Hosseini 129). Amir is still trying to forget about Hassan and his life in Afghanistan. He attempts to rid himself of his burden of guilt that he still carries. It is not until several years later that Amir finds a way to redeem himself of his sin. “There is a way to be good again, he’d said” (Hosseini 226). While Rahim khan summons amir to tell him that he still can redem himself from the sins that he have done Rahim kand tells Amir what had happened with Ali and Hassan family. Ali died by an landmine and Hassan and his wife were murdered bythe talaban prtoecting the orphaneg that baba had build but he also finds out that Hassan was his step brother and baba was doing ncie things like building orphanages to reedem himself from the sins he had done to Ali. “There is a way to end the cycle”( Hosseini 27).
