Imagine the world with no WIFI, it would be a totally different place. WIFI has made time go past within a second. Instead of going to the Library and picking out the right books and taking for ever, you can have the answers right at you finger tips. WIFI has made the world a different place.

The technology that WIFI gives us is an incredible experience. WIFI is so reliable and it makes it so much easier to do things. Over a billion people are using it right this very moment. WIFI is a fast reliable Australian invention that is easy to use. WIFI has impacted so many people’s lives. It has impacted people lives by communicating to people, you can now use WIFI to call someone from country to country. It has also impacted school kids, we now have google with the answers at our hands. Work now is so much easier because we have WIFI.

WIFI and Internet have their differences. WIFI is used by a router unlike Internet which is used by a special cable called the Ethernet cable. Internet was invented in America and WIFI was invented in Australia. WIFI is an amazing tool that John O’Sullivan and his employees invented. WIFI and Internet are commonly found the same but there a bit are different.

WIFI was first created with a different purpose than it is used for today. In 1991, NSR corporation worked with AT&T and invented the precursor to 802.11 that intended for use in cashier systems. The first wireless networks were under the name WaveLAN. Coaxial cable networks provide your home with internet to run something like the TV. John O’Sullivan and his employees worked on WIFI in 1992 to 1996. The first protocol as released in 1997.

In 1997, John O’Sullivan and his employees invented the magical invention called WIFI. In 2009, John was awarded the CSIRO chairman’s medal and was given the Australian Prime Minister’s prize for Science. In 1997, WIFI was first released for consumers when a committee called 802.11 was created. This led to the creation of IEEE802.11 which is the WIFI we know today.

Currently WIFI is a common worldwide tool that we not only love, but require for our way of life. Perhaps in the future the current WIFI technology may be replaced, and with it new jobs would open. However the opportunities that WIFI has allowed us to experience, means that life will never go back to the way it was. Just quietly though, Australia can claim the glory of inventing the iconic invention of WIFI.
