Biomes is the community of where all living things exist, really known as the earth’s surface (Simon, 2016). The biomes around Warrensville Heights, Ohio is grasslands. The Metroparks which covers 23,000 acers with 18 reservations (Metroparks, 2019). The Metroparks has around 8 lakefront parks, which are beautiful places to be and enjoy (Metroparks, 2019). Biomes tells a lot about the climate in my area, because in North Eastern Ohio, we have four different seasons and the biomes has to adapt to those seasons. We see spring, summer, fall and winter seasons and each one of these brings a something different. During the springtime we see a lot of rain, which brings on the nutrients that is needed for our plants, flowers, trees etc. When the summer takes over all plants, flowers and everything is in full bloom and grows so quickly. They are receiving photosynthesis from the sunlight and able to gather water from the soil. Fall changes everything, that could be the harvest time for certain vegetables and fruits. It makes the changes to where the plants, flowers and trees get themselves ready for dormant weather which is the winder season.

What local biomes limit the kinds of living things that I would see regularly would be climate. Climate makes it hard for the rabbits, insects and some birds to be out all seasons. Now were I live is a lot of service businesses and there is a lot of homes. I feel makes a difference and causes wildlife to not have very many places to hide and live, this can cause me to see them more often in my side and front yard because my backyard is fenced in. There have been coyotes spotted wondering around our homes, skunks, raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, groundhogs and I am sure there are many more that I am not able to think of at the moment.

Invasive species in my biome would be wild boar/hogs, in the state of Ohio (Director, 2019). Wild boars/hogs are terrestrial wildlife which tend to destroy natural habitats, which other animals need (Director, 2019). There are also invasive insects and diseases that cause destruction to the plants and habitat (Director, 2019). Diseases causes harm to the wildlife and the cost of the quarantining and trying to treat the disease (Director, 2019). Then you have the aquatic invasive species such as carp and curly pondweeds that live in Lake Erie and the Ohio River that causes a risk to the water quality and they have to be monitored continuously (Director, 2019).

I do not have an invasive species that has invaded my area, but when we lived at our hold house, we had a sunroom that was built onto the house and a skunk got underneath it. However, he got trapped and sprayed terribly because the poor thing was so scared. We ended up having to call the city to handle the animal control of this skunk and someone to come out to try to get rid of the horrible smell. The treatment or whatever you would call it lasted maybe a week and the smell was in full effect again. It did not matter what they did the smell lingered, the heat and changes in the environment made it worse or dormant. It took us a good two to three years before it completely dissipated. I can say that was the worst experience I had had with any wildlife and hope we never experience anything like that again. I learned something from that when we built our new home, there is nothing we have what wildlife can get underneath.
