General Concept Of Aesthetics

“Aesthetic knowledge is a fundamental dimension of the human culture, which was and still is crucial to the development of scientific understanding of the natural world.” The word aesthetic can refer to people, objects/lands, and a more important points of view. There is no real accepted definition of Aesthetic behavior, which is the concern with the beauty of a person/people, art, and/or landscapes.

People in their own right are beautiful, but society will set standards of the perfect type of beauty. As time passes by those standards/expectations change and people change their perspective of what is aesthetic and what is no longer considered to be up to par. No matter how much the expectations change, there has never been a time where everyone agrees about what beauty really is. Between the late 1900s and the early 2000s, there was a notable change in norms for good looks that the public found appealing. In the ’90s the aesthetic was found to be a grunge look, which is defined by bands like Nirvana, Foo Fighters, and Nickelback as well as wearing outfits that included wearing dark-colored t-shirts with a plaid shirt over it, some ripped stonewashed jeans, and Doc Martens or high top sneakers. While in the early 2000s popular fashion shifted to women wearing low-rise skinny jeans with peasant tops and shiny shoes.

Similar to beauty in society, there is also beauty in nature. There are different types of beauty in nature that end up being famous, not all of them do though. Examples of these gorgeous attractions are the Banff National Park in Canada, Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, etc. Fashion and nature are similar in the categories that are used to describe the types of aesthetics that people “like”. Aesthetics like grunge, vintage, dark, light, pastel, etc. Light aesthetic places include places that have a great amount of light or “soft” colors that make them attractive to the human eye.
